(Locomaster Profiles) 
This is one of our most requested programmes for re-release on DVD. This is a Wired for Sound cab-ride filmed on board D431 when it and D449 worked the ‘Celtic Hoovers’  railtour from Glasgow Central to Crewe in September 2000. This trip took the two Class 50s back to their original LMR stamping ground of the late 1960’s and early 1970’s and both locos were duly  transformed into ‘as built’ livery for the occasion. With a respectable load of 13 coaches, our  ‘Vacs’ produce a spirited performance as they tackled the tortuous climbs of Beattock and Shap – not to mention plenty more hilly bits! 
 
While the superb thrash offers excellent audio entertainment, the view from the locomotive footplate offers plenty of fine scenery along the route.
 
As with the majority of Locomaster re-releases, this programme has been digitally re-mastered, but also contains approximately 25 extra minutes of footage not included in the original VHS version. Thus, the DVD version has a running time of approximately 1 hour 55 minutes.
