(Railway Recollections)
This cabride was recorded on board 50022 on 16th April 1985. The train was the 09.25 Paddington - Penzance from Exeter St Davids to Plymouth.
The re-signaling of Exeter was in full swing, so a Flagman was used to control the traffic movements to depart the station. The train was booked to depart Exeter at 12.22 and arrive at Plymouth at 13.29. However, the 06.28 HST from Bradford was running late and it was arranged for us to stop at Newton Abbott to make a connection with this train. Our Plymouth arrival was at 13.50.
This programme is shot entirely from the cab giving a forward view of the road ahead. The sounds of a fifty hard at work are accompanied by the conversations between the driver, inspector and cameraman.
No 4/36 of the series of UK cab rides.
This programme was originally released by Kingfisher Publications.
