Bodywork repairs have been carried out on 50007 & 50049 at Kidderminster SVR the past few weeks by our expert welder,Ian Williams.
50049 Defiance only need some small repairs however 50007 Hercules required some extensive and brutal repairs as the photos below show.
Removing & replacing the stuck on cab side panels on one end of the loco ,on both sides.
There was plenty of water trapped behind these panels, so it was a good idea to remove them and repair to ensure no further deterioration of the body side.
This work is being carried out in readiness for the repaint in July.
