50033
Glorious
Glorious worked her last day on BR powering the Cornish Caper Railtour from which she was delivered straight to the National Railway Museum at York.
From here Glorious moved around a bit due to space constraints and also changing priorities at the NRM and eventually ended up at Tyseley where she was stored outside and her condition deteriorated.
In 2018, we were offered the custodianship of 50033 and Glorious was fully restored, both cosmetically and mechanically by our working volunteers.
50033 was back in service during the Class 50s at Fifty celebrations at the Severn Valley Railway in 2018. The loco was in green primer and people were able to pay to write messages on her. Glorious was then painted into large logo livery, effectively returning her to the same cosmetic conditions that she retired in.
50033 was unveiled at Kidderminster SVR on 20th September 2019, in front of many of our generous supporters who has accelerated the transformation into the classic large logo livery.
